Dino World!

Sunday turned into one of those days where we just wanted to get out of the house and go somewhere. Not to Target or the pool, but somewhere we just haven't been.

Dinosaur World in Glen Rose, Texas was the place we visited and we had a great day!

Oh no, my sweet boy is being eaten!!! lol

It was a warm 93F degrees when we went out there, even the dinos needed to get a drink of water.
Look at those long necks.
You ever get that feeling that something is about to happen??

C saw a resemblance between the dino and L in this picture

Snack time. Lil C enjoying an apple slice.

After snack L got the chance to dig for fossils. He could keep his favorite three found. He got a sharks tooth, a piece of amber and a Sting Ray tooth.

This is DQ Country!!!

After the Dinosaur World fun we treated the boys to some ice cream. I love that every small town still has a Dairy Queen. Yum!

This was Corbin's face when he found out we were stopping for ice cream...

The Chisolm Trail

The Chisholm Trail was a trail used in the later 19th century to drive cattle overland from ranches in Texas to Kansas.

On our drive home we saw an outdoor museum of sorts honoring one of the stops of the Chisolm Trail in Johnson County.

Apparently this stage coach was used in a John Wayne film

A saddle on display in the old saloon.

Pics I took for fun and to work on my photography skills during our drive.

Kindergarten Graduation

My boy is going to 1st grade! I can't believe he's turning 7 at the end of the summer. Where did the time go? Why didn't time fly by when I was younger and couldn't wait to get on with life? Now that I'm ready to slow down and enjoy each moment with my boys time has decided to speed up.

Look how tall he is (at the end)
Prepared, his teacher brought books for them to read while they waited for the Pre-K graduation program to finish.
First in line, entering the room
Helping mama clap for all the graduates.
Lil' C, Looking on with daddy
Their program included singing What A Wonderful World, You Raise Me Up and New York, New York (main title substituted with Big School, Big School)
This was his teachers last year teaching at the school. Her family moved to Houston back in March and she stayed on to finish the school year with her Kindergarten class. She was a GREAT teacher and the reason we kept L in a Private Kindergarten class.
She will be missed!!!

Playhouse!

In a world without financial worry we would have loved to have put in a pool. Unfortunately, that just wasn't in the cards. But I wanted the boys to have something they could do over the summer at home. After a couple of months researching and pricing out playhouses/swingsets we found a great deal on one. If only assembling it was easy. Poor C worked on it for nearly 4 days straight.

L very excited that his playset is going to be built. Ready to help daddy.

Laying out the play area...

The treated wood really stunk up my garage.

C, ready to work. Bubbles- check, Water Bottle-check, Hat on-check!
